This out-and-back trail is easy and fun on the way in. But it earns its name on the way back – Sliding Sands. Working against gravity, the bottom falls away with every step. Envision hands and feet flailing for a grip, and the grit of sand that’s made its way everywhere, including between your teeth.
I’ve had four false starts to the blog today. There’s been plenty of flailing.
Sometimes daily practice is just like that. You put in the work, but it doesn’t feel like you’ve covered much distance.
And still, you keep going. Because it’s a practice.
This is me, learning to shake it off and come back the next day.
Until tomorrow!
